Realtor Safety and
Awareness with
The Beverly Carter

By ONE Family
On September 25, 2014, a real estate professional named Beverly Carter was kidnapped and murdered after showing a listing to what appeared to be “normal” clients. Her tragic death opened a conversation on REALTOR safety, awareness, and prevention.Too many real estate professionals are at risk every single day because they are not properly equipped and aware with the necessary knowledge and prevention training.

According to NAR: 33% of its members feared for their personal safety or safety of their data while working. That number rose to 41% amongst women. In an Inman News Survey, 9% of agents said they had been attacked or threatened. Over 5% had to use a gun to defend themselves. 5% relied on a cellphone application to stay safe.

Beverly tragically lost her life, but her foundation (The Beverly Carter Foundation) has created a platform for agents to feel safe, supported, and aware.
